During the thirty days from November1st to December 1st, 2002, the FIRST VIRTUAL SYMPOSIUM ABOUT THE BRUGADA SYNDROME will be held on the Internet, as a homage to the tenth anniversary of its discovery.

This first experience -regarding this Syndrome, the last cardiologic entity discovered in the XX Century- on the Internet, is aimed at providing knowledge about the Syndrome by using communication instruments, already of daily use at the beginning of the XXI Century, and by taking advantage of the experience gathered in the following:

• First Virtual Congress of Cardiology
• Second Virtual Congress of Cardiology
• University Course on Pain
• Course on Education for Clinic Investigators
• First Virtual Symposium about Chagas Disease
• First Virtual Symposium on Pain, Palliative Medicine and Advancements on Pharmacology of Pain

During the Symposium, a series of Lectures, Round Tables and Controversies, dealing with different aspects of the topic, will be published. Widely known researchers will provide their contributions, which will be the expression of how we imagined an event of these characteristics on the Internet.

Just as a Symposium to which you attend in person, an updating of relevant issues will be tackled by specialists who -as it has already been stated- will cover from basic investigation to diagnostic methods, from clinics to treatment, from electrophysiology to genetics.

Colleagues: we participate without noticing it, as actors of a new era in transmission of medical knowledge. As never before, the organizers of a scientific event, the authors/lecturers, and the receivers relate "virtually" to give birth to an interactive academic meeting between those who own the knowledge and those who want to learn it.
